Overview

National Honor Society Information

The National Honor Society (NHS) is a service-based organization. Members participate in a variety of service projects throughout the year, including the Socktober drive, tie blanket making, volunteering at elementary schools, and volunteering with Feed My Starving Children. NHS also manages inside concessions during home events at RHS for fall sports (girls volleyball), winter sports (boys basketball, girls basketball, wrestling), and spring sports (boys volleyball).

To maintain active membership, students must:

  • Complete 40 hours of volunteer work each school year
  • Maintain a 3.50 cumulative GPA
  • Attend biweekly meetings and notify Mrs. Shermock, the NHS Advisor, if they are unable to attend

It is an honor to be a part of Rogers NHS. Members should take pride in representing our school and community through service.

In August 2025, students entering grades 10–12 with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher are eligible to apply for NHS. Students will complete an online application. Candidates must also receive recommendations from RHS teachers and others who can speak to their strengths in the four pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character.

Selection is based on a review of each completed application packet, faculty evaluations, and other verifiable information. Final selection will take place in September 2025.

The 2025 NHS Induction Ceremony is scheduled for Monday, October 13, 2025, at 7:00 PM in the PAC.

If you have questions, please contact Tracy Shermock at (763) 274-3140, ext. 1725, or by email at tracy.shermock@isd728.org.

The 2025–2026 application is available [HERE]. Students must be signed in to their school-issued Google account to access it. The application deadline is September 16, 2025.
