Attendance Reminders
Please plan ahead for your student's appointments/early dismissals. It is important to communicate with your student when they are to leave. While we understand that last minute needs do arise, we try to minimize interrupting class time. Students that are leaving for appointments during the day will not receive a pass, it will be updated in their attendance.
RHS does not have an open campus. Students who are scheduled to be here for in person classes or lunch are not allowed to leave to go to their cars, coffee shops, restaurants or home.
PSEO and online students ARE allowed to leave the building during times they do not have in-person classes or lunch. If choosing to remain on campus, they need to remain in the Media Center
For more information on how to use Parent Portal, please visit our district website, under Parent Portal

ISD 728 PREVENTION & SAFETY: RESOURCES for FAMILIES & PARENTS
- Please visit THIS SITE which contains family and parent resources to support mental health, social and emotional learning (job preparedness skills), safety, alcohol and substance abuse and more. The information on this page will be updated regularly with new resources, community events relating to these issues and other important information relating to Prevention & Safety.
- The SUP Coalition is a community-focused coalition comprised of individuals that reside or work in Sherburne County and are committed to reducing youth substance use through community collaboration.
April is Alcohol Awareness month and with prom and graduation season approaching, we want to remind parents and caregivers of the important role they play in ensuring the safety of our young people.
Most teens are making the responsible decision not to drink alcohol. Help the many teens who don’t drink, feel confident in their choice, by supporting alcohol-free celebrations.
What can you do to help reduce underage alcohol use?
- Talk with your teen about issues involving alcohol. Though it may not seem like it, teens really do hear your concerns. Talk early and often about the risks and consequences of underage drinking. Set clear rules against drinking and consistently enforce those rules.
- Refuse to supply alcohol to underage youth. Never buy alcohol for anyone under 21 or you could be facing up to one year in jail and/or a $3,000 fine. Do not allow your teen to have parties with alcohol on your property or you could be facing up to 90 days in jail and/or a $1,000 fine—whether you’re present or not.
- Provide safe alternatives. Plan chaperoned alcohol-free parties for your teen and their friends. When your child is invited to a party, let them know you’re available to get them out of a situation where other teens are drinking or using drugs. Creating a code word or phrase can make it easier for your child to ask for help. Another option is to use a location app. These apps can monitor your child’s phone use, location, and more to help keep them safe.
- Be a role model. Set a good example with your own alcohol use and response to underage drinking. Talk with other parents to ensure they are modeling the same behavior.
Prom and Graduation Night Tips for Parents:
- Review your child’s plan with them for the evening and tell them to check in with you periodically.
- Store alcohol, cannabis, medications, and nicotine products in a secure location where kids don’t have access.
- Know who is driving. Encourage seatbelt use – the best accessory!
- Do not rent hotel rooms for your child or allow them to stay overnight in one.
Visit the SUP website for additional tips and resources on how to talk with your teens.

Safety & Internet Filtering at Home
ISD 728 Chromebooks will continue to have filtering to help protect students against harmful and inappropriate online material. Despite the District’s attempt to filter and provide additional protections outside of school, parents/guardians still play an important role in supervising their child's internet access and usage. Parents are encouraged to discuss rules for appropriate internet usage, and reinforce lessons of digital citizenship and safety. Please review our technology responsible use guidelines and visit www.isd728.org/Digital-
- Visit here for more information about what is filtered.
- Visit GoGuardian Parent App for information on how parents and guardians can monitor their children's Chromebook browsing activity, and choose to block sites such as YouTube.
