ISD 728 School Board Recognizes Leaders and Three Rogers Schools

The ISD 728 School Board took time at its November meeting to reocgnize students from three Rogers schools for their leadership and hard work, exemplifying ISD 728’s mission to educate, inspire and empower. 

 

Students from Rogers Elementary, Rogers Middle, and Rogers High schools were joined by their school and district leadership for this event, as well as family and friends.

Adele Dockendorf

Adele is an exceptional student who consistently demonstrates responsibility and dedication in everything she does. She manages her time wisely, meets every deadline, and takes full ownership of her learning. Whether it’s preparing for class discussions, completing assignments, or collaborating in group projects, Adele approaches each task with focus and integrity. Her teachers and peers can always rely on her to be prepared, respectful, and committed to doing her best.

Beyond fulfilling her academic duties, Adele goes above and beyond expectations. She often seeks out additional resources to deepen her understanding and willingly helps classmates who may be struggling. Her enthusiasm for learning and her positive attitude inspire others to give their best effort as well. Adele's strong sense of responsibility and drive for excellence make her not only a model student but also a valued member of our Rogers Elementary community.  Adele is a wonderful Rogers Rocket!

Layla Abdihashi (Ab-dee-HA-shee)

Layla is a remarkably dependable student who takes her academic responsibilities seriously and always puts forth her best effort. She approaches every task with focus and determination, ensuring her work is thorough and of high quality. Layla consistently comes to class prepared, stays organized, and manages her time effectively. Her teachers can always count on her to follow through on commitments and contribute meaningfully to class discussions and group activities.

 

What truly sets Layla apart is her willingness to go the extra mile. She often takes the initiative to explore topics beyond the curriculum, showing genuine curiosity and a desire to learn more. Layla also lends a helping hand to classmates, offering thoughtful explanations and encouragement when others need support. Her strong work ethic and positive attitude make her a role model for her peers and a student who exemplifies responsibility, perseverance, and excellence in everything she does. Layla is a wonderful addition to our school!

 

Rogers Middle School

Ellen is an excellent student representation of ISD 728's Core Values. She comes to class each day with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Ellen constantly connects her learning inside and outside of the school walls and pushes herself to being a lifelong learner. She encourages those around her to do better and be better. Ellen is a valued class member and friend to many; being around Ellen feels good. She treats others with respect and values the differences we have in our classroom. Not only is Ellen a phenomenal student, she is a genuinely kind human who is set to make her mark in this world.
 

Kayli Garica Villagomez - 8th grade

Kayli is a terrific student who always comes to class prepared with all her materials –  She brings 100% effort to class each day. Not only is Kayli academically talented, but she is a force of positivity for both her teachers and classmates. She stays on top of her schoolwork by keeping her classes and items organized – when she is going to be gone, she checks in with her teachers to see what she will be missing and how that work can be completed. She collaborates well with her classmates, listens carefully, and shares ideas respectfully. She will not hesitate to urge the class to applaud louder if she feels like a classmate's presentation has not gotten enough praise. She is friendly and smart; often asking the best questions. She is an asset to our RMS community each day! Overall, Kayli’s genuine kindness and hard work have set her up for success. We all have truly enjoyed working with Kayli in our classrooms. 

 

Rogers High School

Ashlyn O’Malley - 12th grade

Throughout her four years at Rogers High School, Ashlyn has demonstrated exceptional dedication, achievement, and leadership both in the classroom and on the athletic field. She is a model of perseverance, humility, and excellence—qualities that define what it truly means to be a Royal.

Athletically, Ashlyn has been a standout performer and leader in multiple sports throughout her high school career. She played soccer all four years and basketball during her freshman and junior years, making an immediate impact as a student-athlete from the moment she joined the programs. A varsity soccer player since 8th grade, she has earned an extraordinary list of accomplishments: she is a three-time First Team All-State AAA selection, a three-time All-Conference letter winner, and a two-year team captain. Her talent, discipline, and competitive spirit have left an indelible mark on our school’s athletic history. She currently holds school records for most goals and points in a single season, ranks third in career goals and assists, and stands second in career points. Her dedication and leadership have earned her the opportunity to continue her athletic career at the Division I level, as she will be playing soccer for Southern Utah University.

In addition to her athletic excellence, Ashlyn has maintained an outstanding academic record, maintaining an impressive 3.92 GPA throughout her high school career. She has been recognized for her commitment to learning through her induction into the National Honor Society during her sophomore year. Her teachers consistently praise her focus, strong work ethic, and intellectual curiosity. She approaches her academic work with the same drive and determination that she brings to the soccer field—always striving to improve, learn, and achieve at the highest level.

Her teachers describe her as “focused and academic,” and note that she “works hard on her writing and leads by example”. Others highlight her “outstanding leadership both inside and outside the classroom,” describing her leadership style as one of “quiet confidence and compassion,” where “she leads not by authority, but by example—through empathy and collaboration”. Another teacher commends her as “respectful, silently leading by example, with a great work ethic.”

These qualities—discipline, humility, respect, and empathy—make Ashlyn not only an exceptional athlete and student, but also an outstanding person. She consistently embodies Royal PRIDE—Positive, Respectful, Inclusive, Determined, and Engaged—in everything she does.

As she graduates, Ashlyn leaves behind a lasting legacy of achievement, character, and leadership that will continue to inspire future Royals. Her accomplishments are a testament to her commitment, her heart, and her unwavering pursuit of excellence.

Easton Ridlehoover - 12th grade

Easton has exemplified the qualities of an outstanding student-athlete throughout his high school career, combining dedication, skill, and integrity both on the field and in the classroom. From his freshman year through his senior year, Easton has consistently demonstrated a level of commitment and perseverance that sets him apart as a leader among his peers.

Athletically, Easton has made significant contributions on the football and baseball field, and basketball court. He played football and baseball all four years, and played basketball during his freshman and sophomore seasons. A three-year letterwinner in baseball, Easton’s performance on the field has been marked by determination, teamwork, and consistency. Following his junior football season, he earned All-District Honorable Mention as well as Academic All-District honors, reflecting both his athletic ability and dedication to his studies. Easton will continue his athletic journey at the University of Minnesota Duluth, where he will compete in both football and baseball, a testament to his skill, discipline, and perseverance.

In the classroom, Easton has distinguished himself through exceptional academic achievement, maintaining a 4.001 GPA while consistently demonstrating focus, initiative, and intellectual curiosity. A member of the National Honor Society, he exemplifies scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Easton consistently demonstrates Royal PRIDE—Positive, Respectful, Inclusive, Determined, and Engaged—in all that he does. He is recognized for his strong work ethic and collaborative approach, leading by example and working diligently alongside his peers. Easton demonstrates positive leadership through discipline, perseverance, and quiet determination, approaching every challenge with the goal of mastery and inspiring those around him through his dedication and commitment to learning.

Easton’s impact extends beyond individual accomplishment. He is a student who elevates those around him, whether through mentoring teammates, supporting classmates, or leading by example in all aspects of school life. His combination of athletic achievement, academic excellence, and character reflects a maturity and dedication that make him an exemplary member of our Royal community. Easton’s high school career stands as a model of perseverance, leadership, and integrity, leaving a lasting legacy of excellence for his peers and RHS.
